Perkins Loans
A Federal Perkins Loan is a low-interest (5 percent) loan for both undergraduate and graduate students with financial need. You must be considered at least a half-time student to be eligible.
Promissory Note and Entrance Counseling Requirement
After you have been offered and have accepted a Federal Perkins Loan, you will be required to complete an electronic Master Promissory Note (e-MPN) and entrance counseling. You may do so at SUNY Student Loan Service Center's Web site. The process will take approximately 20 minutes.
Exit Interview
All borrowers are required to complete an Exit Interview prior to leaving the University. Exit Interviews will be mailed to students who are registered for less than six credit hours or who will be graduating at the end of the semester. Exit counseling will be available soon on the SUNY Student Loan Service Center Web site.
SUNY Loan Servicing Center
The SUNY Student Loan Service Center’s Web site offers borrowers the opportunity to review account information on-line, select payment options, and obtain benefit forms. The Web site also provides the most up-to-date information on benefits and policies governing Perkins loans.
