Accreditations
The State University of New York at Buffalo is accredited by the Commission on Institutes of Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools, the New York State Education Department, and the New York State Board of Regents. In addition, many schools, faculties, or departments are accredited by outside associations in their fields.
Academic Calendar
The University operates on a semester system. The calendar consists of a fall semester and a spring semester during the academic year and summer sessions of varying lengths.
Course Level Information
- 100-499: Undergraduate level
- 500-999: Graduate and professional level
- UG: Indicates undergraduate level credit
- GR: Indicates graduate level credit
- Current course schedules
- Course descriptions (primarily undergraduate, but some graduate included)
Rank in Class
The University at Buffalo does not rank its students.
Confidentiality of Information
This document has been released upon the written consent of the student in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, as amended. The recipient may not permit any other party or agency to have access to it without first securing the consent of the student.
Disciplinary Remarks
Per the State University of New York, disciplinary remarks must be included on the transcript in situations where hazing has occurred. No other disciplinary information is included on the University at Buffalo transcript.
Honors
Latin and departmental honors apply solely to undergraduate records.
Dean’s List: University Dean's List is noted on the transcript from Fall 2006 forward.
